Cherry Blossom Festival

In Korea the cherry blossom festival is a time to gather as friends and a time for couples to spend time together. Soon Chun Hyang has done a great job of lining their entire campus in cherry blossoms!!! I cannot get enough of them. Ever since they bloomed I have been taking pictures every day. They are so pretty and make the entire campus feel like spring!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

This path cuts through Phoenix field, during the Cherry Blossom festival time the grass is covered with families, students, couples having picnics together! We thought there would be an announcement of when exactly this "festival" was but we had no idea. When you see street vendors starting to line the campus you'll know it's time.

A lot of the Korean students actually go home on the weekend due to Midterm week they have been staying on campus studying so it has been more lively! When they want to take a break we just go outside to take pictures =) The weather has been really beautiful!

Since families have been coming to our school to picnic there have been lots of kids running around. They are seriously the cutest kids ever!!! I guess our school is a popular place to hang out during the cherry blossom festival because during the weekdays kindgartens around the area will bring their classes here to walk around, play games, eat and of course take pictures.

Even on days where I did not plan to take pictures it some how happened! On the weekends I have started to play basketball with some friends. Since the blossoms were in full bloom during a break we decided to take some pictures.

I also have been taking so many pictures because it's windy here @ SCH. If I don't take full advantage of them in full bloom soon they will be gone! Plus several times there has been forecasts of rain and according to all my Korean friends all the trees will be stripped of their pretty petals once that happens =(.

There is also a cherry blossom festival in Seoul, but it was during the midterm season here so I did not have time to go check it out. Our campus has so many I did not feel deprived from seeing them. I have also heard there is a huge festival in a smaller city somewhere in Korea which would be neat to check out next time if I have the time.
