It was also Su Min's birthday so we had some cake and tarts to celebrate with her!!!
It was a Baskin Robin's ice cream cake. There were two flavours mixed in one and I definitely liked one more than the other. I really miss DQ ice cream cakes after having this one. It was fine, but DQ cakes are definitely a lot better!!!
The next day, Monday April 25, my class and the other level 2 Korean class combined and we went outside to enjoy the sunshine. First we stopped at Shinmaru to buy drinks and waffles. I had a great time chatting with all my friends and Korean teachers.
After that we went to Phoenix Field and played some games all together. Since the cherry blossoms were still out, little kids were still at the field picnicing as well!
On Sunday May 1 I went with Fregie, Perpetua and Jay to PyeongTaek (평택) for some food and shopping. PyeongTaek is a more developed city and there is a large university near by. Usually a university district will have many restaurants, coffee shops and shops to keep all the students entertained. We ate at Mr. Pizza for dinner and it was great. Mr. Pizza has an option for all you can eat salad bar (with an extra fee) and it was great! I was craving potato salad recently and they had it, I was so happy.
Later Jay brought us to his favourite coffee shop. I am not an expert in coffee, but they seem to do coffee right. I went to try the Affrogato (아포가토), which is a scoop of vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso. It's a delicious combination =) It was excellent I really recommend trying one of these while in Korea. You can get it from any coffee shop basically or if you don't want to spend too much money you can go to Burger King!
On Tuesday May 3 my Global Strategies of Korean Business class went on a field trip! We went to the Hyundai Motors Manufacturing Plant in Asan. It was such a cool field trip, we were able to see how a care is manufactured from beginning to end. We had a tour guide that took us to the different buildings. From stamping the metal pieces for the car parts, to assembling and putting in the engines and such to adding in the custom parts that the customers ordered. It was seriously the coolest thing I've ever seen! Plus they gave us a small model car at the end of the trip.
I was only able to take pictures in the press room. We were forbidden to take pictures anywhere else on site.
I really enjoyed the two field trips I was able to go on in this class and I really recommend it for next semester if it's offered!!!
